Step (Step) is a very important setting in the terminal. It affects a large number of points in the analysis of the market and also affects the speed of work with the terminal.
In fact, this setting changes the size of the group of ticks, according to the price scale. In other words, changes the cluster size in height.
- For each instrument, the price step is individual
- For each timeframe the price step is individual
- The size of the price tick is adjusted for the asset volatility.
An example of the size of the price step on the ETHUSDt currency pair
Highly detailed clustering – increases the load on the terminal.
High granularity + large range – increase the time of plotting.
High granularity + large range + small timeframe – can lead to program failure.
For an objective assessment of clusters inside the candle, use such a price step, at which the cluster height will be approximately 1-2 millimeters, on the monitor.
